Well, Tulum has a great cultural importance and is the front door to the north coast Biosphere Reserve of Sian Ka'an. Is one of the most beautiful cities of the Mayan culture with the most spectacular view of the Mexican Caribbean.
It is also a passage to the forest city of Coba, another important archeological area where the customs of the original inhabitants still exist.
The archaeological zone of Tulum is perhaps one of the most beautiful places on the Riviera Maya, combining the mystery of the ancient civilization with the singular beauty of the Caribbean Sea. The city of Tulum is the only known archaeological site located by the sea, and belongs to the region known as Tankah-Tulum which comprises the zone of Tahkah, Tulum and Xel-Ha. It was constructed at the top of a cliff facing the blue sea and has and underwater coral reef that is the world's second-largest.
